 Biography

Cri Kars-Marshall began working with clay in 1997.  She has exhibited throughout Central Virginia and in Maryland, with solo shows in the Sarah B. Smith Gallery at McGuffey Art Center,and at Piedmont Virginia Community College Art Gallery, and participated in invitational and group shows at, among other places, the Academy of Fine Arts in Lynchburg, Gallery Flux in Ashland, Les Yeux Du Monde and Second Street Gallery in Charlottesville, Spruce Creek Gallery, in Nellysford and the Coppin State University Gallery in Baltimore, MD.  Her work is held in private collections throughout the US and the Netherlands. In 2011 Studio Visit Magazine featured some of her metal pieces.

Over the years she has studied art and ceramics at Piedmont Virginia Community College and at Hood College, MD, and since 2004 has been an associate member of McGuffey Art Center, Charlottesville, VA.

Born in the Netherlands, Cri Kars-Marshall has received her Ph.D. in medical anthropology. She focused on maternal health and family planning in developing countries, where she lived and worked. Currently she is based in Free Union, VA.
